That same day I traveled from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, by car. I learned of the Sandia Mountains. Later sitting on the beach in Santa Barbara, I mixed memories of my artist friend and a stay at her house on Hollister Ranch and exploring its magnificent beach and dunes.
